St Peter's Church "E News" Friday 2nd October

Dear Member of St Peter’s Church,

In this fast changing environment, we may have to fine tune our arrangements for services. Please check each Friday for any announcements in this “E News”.

This Sunday there will be The 8am Holy Communion (1662 Prayer Book) Service and The Parish Communion Service at 9.30am. Social Distancing of “one metre plus mitigation” will be in action. Please wear a face covering.

During the 9.30 am Service we will be holding Junior Church in the Parish Room. Invitations have been sent out in advance. Youth Group will follow straight afterwards.

The introduction of the “Rule of 6” has changed some of our arrangements. Sadly, we have had to cancel both this year’s Harvest Social gatherings, but we are going to try an online Harvest Quiz later in October. Details to follow

Refreshments after the morning service are on hold for the moment today, I would encourage you to stay behind afterwards for a while and “Chat in Church”

I will pray for you all in the week ahead.

ST PETERS ALL AGE QUIZ NIGHT - Sunday Oct 25th 5pm

In these strange and challenging Covid times we have reluctantly had to cancel our traditional Harvest parish celebration.  However we can still gather as a parish community and have some fun.  This year we will be having a zoom QUIZ NIGHT.

If anyone has joined a zoom quiz night over the last few months you will understand they can be lots of fun.  This will be open to all ages (Including children) and there will be questions that all generations will be able to answer.

So grab a cup of tea or a glass wine, a pen and paper and your thinking cap and join us on Sunday 25th October at 5pm from the comfort of your own home or from your families or support bubbles. It should be great fun. Please let us know if you can join us so that we can allocate people to teams (all through the wonders of technology - it will all become apparent on the day).  Login in details will be sent to you.

Also if you would like to join us but not used Zoom before and not sure how to access the software and use it, do contact us and we can help you get set up and familiar with it. It is free to use. (This is the brilliant idea of Anne-Marie Lewis! – Ed)

On Thursday 8th October at 11.30 am there will be a short Holy Communion Service in St. Peter’s using the traditional language of the Prayer Book. We are hoping that members who are shielding will consider attending this service as the social distancing will be at least 2 metres.

The Zoom Prayer Group on Tuesday nights at 8 pm has started again please email the Parish Office if you wish to join.
