St Peter's Church "E News" Friday 12th June
St Peter’s Church is closed apart from on Sunday mornings.
For the moment only keyholders who are part of the security monitoring arrangements may enter the church at any other time.
This week’s message from Canon Tim Marwood (Vicar of Petersham)
Dear Member of St Peter’s Church,
This coming Sunday is “Music Sunday” and we have some wonderful music accompanying our recorded Sunday Service that will be sent to you tomorrow. It is good to have this opportunity to celebrate the gifts of all our music makers at St Peter’s and to thank them for their contribution to our worship. A special “Thank you “also to Ben Driver, our Director of Music, for his work in drawing out the many musical talents in our congregation.
Earlier this week we received the welcome news that churches are permitted to reopen for private prayer and this will happen at St Peter’s on Sunday the 14th June from 9.30am to 12 noon. Hand sanitiser will be provided on entry and ten locations to sit in the church will be indicated. I have sufficient volunteers to assist me with supervising the church this Sunday but if you would like to volunteer, to assist for an hour or so on future Sunday mornings, that would be most welcome. Volunteers for this role need to be aged less than 70 years old, not medically vulnerable nor living (or “bubbling”) with someone who is medically vulnerable and not a key worker.
While we are in Step 2 of the Recovery Strategy the distribution of pre-recorded Sunday Services will continue and the Sunday Zoom Meetings for the Sunday Club and Youth Group.
Finally, I would like to send advance “Birthday Greetings” on behalf of all at St Peter’s Church to Lilias Grey-Turner who will celebrate her 100th birthday on the 17th June.
I will pray for you all in the week ahead.
Please email the parish office if you would like to receive the "E News" which include the Bible reading, the homily and the essays.
